HP LaserJet II Power

I wrote about a month ago of a power problem on the HP LaserJet II. When power is turned on to the printer, the unit starts running the SelfTest and the whirring sound of motors can be heard. Within a second or two, the unit shuts down completely. Moe suggested that the problem probably lay in the DC power supply. I changed the DC power supply with no result and then the AC power supply with modules from another Series II printer, but to no avail. I haven't touched the high voltage module yet. Any thoughts about where the trouble lies? Thank you.
You can pull the high voltage power supply out completely and the printer wouldn't even know it was gone. If the DC power supply didn't fix it (assuming you put a good one in from the other printer), the only other thing that could cause it would be the dc controller PCA. I've never seen one do that, but there's always a first time. I would have bet the farm on the dc power supply as the cause.

Hi Moe,
Thanks for the rapid response again. Don't you ever sleep? Or did the android at your place answer me and sign your name? What gets me about the whole problem is that the unit does power up and then shuts down as though there was a thermal fuse.
