HP LJet 1200 Noisy Death

Last night, my trusted 6-year-old LJ1200 made a continuous high-pitch noise for about a minute and died (I think). The noise was not the jet kind that you get when printing starts & stops, I had that for a couple of years but learned to live with it. It was a buzzer-like screeching noise, with constant high pitch.

The secondary code (both ready & attention lights ON when Go is pressed) indicates Laser/Scanner error. Since my printer does not have a scanner, what does it mean? Also, could someone send me a link for the Service manual, please?

TIA - ardo.
All HP LaserJet printers have a Laser/Scanner.

The 1200 does not have a document scanner.

If the secondary code indicates a bad Laser/Scanner then use the request an item link and see if FYOP has one in stock.
