Hp HP LaserJet 1200

HP LaserJet 1200

HP Laserjet 1200
Connected to Windows XP MCE machine via USB port

Printer not responding to print command

Light status on the front panel
All 3 linghts stays on solid.(not flashing)

printer makes normal starting noise at start up and then
three linghts alternates and then goes solid.

tia for any help... HP support is no help

Thanks for replying.
I tried what you suggested and here are the results.

Innitial start up all 3 lights alternates and then they all go steady ON.

When I push and hold the Big(green) light that one goes out but
the other 2 small lights stays on steady.

You have the laser beam error.
It could be laser-scanner problem or broken pin on top of door that push black laser flag when you close the door.

I just checked the maintenance manual.

Secondary error code of attention and ready on solid is a main motor error.

Ready light only is a laser/scanner error.

Go light only is a beam error.

DT and others.

I have just found a document listing the secondary error codes for the LaserJet 1200 & 1220.

The service manual and the document have different meanings assigned to some of the codes.

At this point it looks like the service manual is in error.
