Epson Stylus Photo R200 - Paper/CD-DVD Problems

To All:

I have owned over 15 of the units and printed at least 2000 EACH successful CD/DVDs on multiple units. I still have 3 in boxes and two that I removed from service after print quality became too marginal. I have used them for Photo prints and had very good results.
I have a small business that is provides custom CD /DVD's in quantities up to 100 I do the printing is done on the R200 series.
Over that or if higher quality is required I use a RIMAGE system.
The trick is you MUST have clearance in the back for the entire tray to pop out. If you are an infrequent user and try to print a CD after and extended on period it will try to do an ink cleaning on the CD tray. Let it eject the tray completely from the back. Put the CD tray up and let it go through the cycle. You may even want to print one page of paper just to get it going.

The other suggestion made that I always do is always give the tray a gentle push as it starts going in, and after printing pull it out if it stalls as it ejects, both require only a little assistance.
Since you've had so many R200s maybe you can be of assistance.
My printer has lost it's timing and now grinds on the little plastic gear. This happened once before when the electricity went out but I was able to push the carriage a little one way or the other, and I got lucky and it worked again.

But this time, I have pushed a little, a lot, etc., and still no good. Either I get flashing lights, or it goes through the motions but at the final stage it hits the plastic gear on the roller and grinds. Is there an alighment arrow or something to get the carriage back into its correct position?

Any help would be appreciated.
