Hp HP Color LaserJet 2550L

HP 2550L service error

All 3 lights are on and none of the suggestions in the manual on page 76 helps ... what to do next ?

If the printer has a service error (Attention light, Ready light, and Go light are on), press and hold (GO) and (CANCEL JOB) at the same time to see the secondary error message.

Then post the secondary code and I'll look it up.

If no one responds with e decode of the secondary error within 24 hours of your post, then click on my name and an email box will open, send me a reminder, I have one of those day job things and it gets in the way of my volunteer work sometimes.

secondary error message is simultaneously blinking ready and go light! - teekitizi
That error indicates the fuser motor, developer motor or main motor is not working. Sorry but not much you can do except turn on and turn off and then replace the bad motor but narrowing it down may be difficult. You could try to remove the drum unit and turn on the printer and see if the motors turn and if so it would indicate that is the issue.

took me a while to figure out how I could fool the printer that the lid was closed while it was open to see if motors turned. So what I saw when removing the drum unit and then turn it on was the turning of the revolver of printcartridges and next the 3 gears on the rightside that should turn the imaging drum insides, but then it stopped because it found out there was no imaging drum. How can I see further which moter is down? Please give enough details because I'm a novice when it comes to dismanteling the printer..... - teekitizi
I have the 3 lights on too and printer won't print. If I hold the 2 buttons the secondary error is that the 2 green lights stay on steady.. any idea what it means? The computer gives me the error that my printer is out of paper and it is not.

Secondary message:

Ready and Go lights on.

This usually indicates a bad fuser, but could also be a problem with the control circuitry.

Error log on config page should show one of the following:

50008 Low temperature
50009 Slow fuser
50010 High temperature
50015 Fuser drive-circuit

1. Turn the printer off for about 20 to 30 minutes.

2. If the printer is plugged into a power-strip or a UPS, unplug it, then plug the printer power cord directly into a wall socket.

3. Turn printer back on.

4. If the error continues to occur then replace the fuser.

Hello Stephen or DMZCOMPUTE or anyone that can help,

First a big thank you to dmzcompute for the link of the service manual ;-)

I've the printer of teekitizi at my home now and removed all the covers (left, right and top) to be sure which motor does not turn ... main motor, cartridge motor, developer motor and engaging motor do turn , the fuser motor does nothing ... I've removed the fuser motor ... which component here does fail ? should I measure something here ... like if there is 24 V on pin 1 of the connector ?

Try turning the gear on the fuser by hand and see if it moves. If it does not it may cause the fuser motor to stall and give you the error and if that is the case the fuser is the issue.

did check that before when I removed the fusermotor ... but did check it now with the motor installed ... turns freely by hand

Since the motor plugs into the dc controller that would be the next item I would look at. Not much else you can do here.

ok, so it has to be the dc controller board RG5-7605
http://www.google.be/search?hl=nl&q=rg5-7605&meta=

anyone a reasonable price for a dc-controller board ???

Hey,
Just wondering if anyone still has the HP2550L service manual around? One of the previous posts mentions a link to it, but can't find the link.
Thanks

Thanks for the help.
The info on how to perform various resets and testing procedures was very helpful in the service manual!
