HP1200 printing problem

I am not quite sure what part is going bad on this printer. Whenever someone prints to it and it is "cold" (as in hasn't been printed to in abour an hour) the text is faded and ghosting occurs about halfway down the page. After it spits out a couple of prints, the problem goes away.

I have replaced the cartridge twice just to make sure this was not the issue.

Any help to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Sounds like a fuser issue. What is happening is the fuser is taking to long to come to the correct temp and the first few pages do not fully bind the toner to the paper. Easy to test. Go to word pad when the printer is cold and print lets say 5 blank pages. Now print a page which has had the issue and I bet it prints just fine since the fuser has had the necessary time to warm up. Only way to repair is to replace the fuser.

I will try that.

If it is the fuser, do you know of any good resources I can look into to find out how to replace the fuser on this model.

Thanks for the help.
