Hp HP Color LaserJet 2840

HP LaserJet 2840 light print

I have a hp 2840 that prints very very light, not at all readable. The print is even from top to bottom. I have done the 1/2 page stop and look at the drum. The image is exact to what is on the paper. I have cleaned the scanner optics (which were not dirty). I have changed the High Voltage power supply. I have checked the drum by tradeing it with another working printer. No change at all in the print. The problem started after serviceing for a carosel problem.

Any suggestions?

Then the carousel timing could be off.

The Color LaserJet 2500 and 2550 threads may help you understand the problem as they use carousel based engines.

thanks for the thoughts... I will look through the 2500 and 2550 threads. I have attempted to find an econo mode on the printer with no luck (including searching in the service manual).
