hp laserjet IIIp - pin to secure gear wheel

I recently received the "Top Output Accordion Jam Repair Kit". You have to install a replacement roller, first transferring a plastic gear wheel from the original roller. The gear wheel is held on by a steel pin about 0.9cm long, 0.1cm diameter. Despite multiple warnings in the instructions I managed to drop the pin inside the printer. The pin does not want to come out via gravity. I could try to remove the fuser but no doubt this would lead to other problems.

Is it possible to order spare pins?
Click on my name and send me an email with your name and address. I'll stick one in an envelope for you. Either that or you can cut the head of a small nail. The only function of the pin is to drive the gear. Without it, the gear slips on the shaft.

In the field, I would just cut a piece of paper-clip or binder clip to replace a lost pin .
