Hp HP LaserJet 4100

HP LaserJet 4100 dtn

I'm working at an office where they have a hp lj 4100 dtn. The printer issues the message "PERFORM PRINTER MAINTENANCE", which means a maintenance kit needs to be installed. I've worked on situations like these before in a previous job, but the message keeps popping up after the kit has been installed. I think that it is just that they didn't know how to reset the counter when they installed the kit (before I arrived) and we have to wait out the installed kit to reset again, successfully. Can someone confirm or correct my paranoia? Thank you.
You can still reset the message; you don't need to wait out the counter, since the counter was already tripped.

Turn off the printer.

Hold down the left sides of the item and value buttons

Turn on the printer

Watch the operator panel...

everything is ok so far. I was told to hold down the left side of the item button and the RIGHT side of the value button; obviously, I was misinformed. Thank you for your help.
