Epson Epson Stylus Photo 900

Epson Stylus Color 900

We have an Epson Stylus Color 900 printer that does not want to take in the paper. It continuously flashes the paper indicator light as if there is no paper in the tray. I thought maybe I could replace the rollers. What do you suggest?

Thanks so much,

Karen Willoughby

P.S. We are stuck with this printer since the piece of scientific equipment it is attached to only recognizes it and older models
The printer does not have a sensor in the tray.
It tries to pickup paper. If paper is not detected by the sensor inside the printer (either because there is no paper or it fails to pickup), it reports paper out.

Does it try to pick the paper when you send a print to it?
If it does you could try cleaning the roller with some alcohol.

There are probably lots of printers you could attach to your equipment.
The 900 has Epson ESC/P 2 emulation lots of other Epson printers have this including some laser printers.
Your equipment probably outputs in ESC/P (earlier version) and maybe also has the option to output in HP PCL - Standard laser printer language.
