Hp HP LaserJet 4100

Where to find firmware for hp 4100

I have an hp 4100 with an old firmware dated of the year 2000. With HP WebJet Admin, I see no firmware available for My HP 4100 Series printer.

Does someone know where I could find something?

Why do you need firmware?
Are you having problems?

I think the 4100 firmware is a dimm on the formatter.
You have to buy a new dimm with the latest version.
It cannot be flashed with updates like some other printers.

Yes, I am having problems with my 4100. I am unable to print from a MacOS X (10.4.7) machine.

the little monitor on my HP 4100 lights up but no messages, etc. shows up on the screen. At the same time, I cannot send print jobs to the printer. Can anyone tell me how this can be fixed?

check your 4100 in the back to see if theres a network card (Jetdirect probably named 600, 610, 615, or 620), if there is turn off & remove it. I've seen network cards do that, if not its probably the formatter (had a 2400 where backlight of display would come on but stayed blank, turned out to be formatter).

If theres no network card or it doesn't fix it, I would start too with the firmware dimm (found on formatter right side under side cover), it could be possibly bad.

I have a handful of 4100 firmware modules available, click on my name in the title bar of this post and email me for more information.
