Hp HP Color Copier 120

Print shop needs fast color printers

We are a print shop and produce around 120,000 invoices a month for our customers. We have 7 HP 9500 printers that work fine but need something even faster. We are planning on taking on another 50,000 invoices a month. Does anyone have any suggestions on some other fast color printers? We are willing to try an brand of printers. Thanks!
You could check out the Okidata C9600 or C9800 printers.

Another choice would be the Xerox Phaser 7700 Series.

Thanks for the info.....that Xerox one looks awesome. Have you had any experience with it?

Which Xerox one are you referring to?

We have experience with all of them with the exception of the Phaser 7760. (It's too new yet)

The Phaser 7400 is simply an Okidata in disguise. ;)

Any of the Xerox I would like info on. When we send print jobs to the printer they are all small documents (2-5 pages) each and we will send 100 of them at a time......we don't send 1 huge file with 300 pages. When we have tested other models that were suppose to be faster than our 9500's they all ended up slowing down because they were small files instead of one huge file.

Does that make sense?

You might want to check out the units that have the Hard Drive installed. You should be able to set these jobs up in the printers permanently without the need to keep resending them each time. (assuming the files don't change each time)

Contact Oki or Xerox in the links above. I know that Oki has a "try & buy" program which will demo one of their units at your site. If it doesn't fit your needs, you can return it with no hassles.

I am not sure where you are located but you be able to find a local reseller in your area by using the links above.

Phil have you thought about the Aficio/Gestetners? They are pretty racy with a very low cpp and high volume capability. I would do these more than the Oki based boxes. Just my .02 :-)PCRMike

Hey Mike :)

No experience with the Ricoh lines here...We don't service any of these, & the supplies are typically tougher to get for us.

I work on tha Oki, some of the Xerox and a number of the Ricoh-built (Gestetners) and I really like the Ricoh ones for high volume, and unit-type maintenance. I have one in a newspaper, and one at an ice cream maker that run theirs with full-bleed 12x18 all the time, and they do really, really well. Most of the things rum PM to PM, except the fuser oil units must be replaced at half life dur to the heavy coverage, but they are cheap. We put a MA on them with toner and all for about a nickel per. Nothing breaks, surprisingly resilient. THe DSc38 and DSc38u are awesome. 38 ppm, and great glossy images. Look into it, bosha, you will be pleased. Phil, you can get the parts and supplies for them, just email me and I will tell you where. :-)PCRMike
