Hp HP Color LaserJet 5500

HP 5500 51.2.Y ERROR

I have a HP5500 with the above error,
the manual suggests it is a scanner fault, but the letter Y should be a number between 0 and 3 which indicates which laser is faulty.
any ideas ?
Maybe with firmware upgrades or changes the Y probably stands for the yellow laser/scanner.

My 5500 manual doesn't have numbers listed, are you using the 4600 manual?

For help press Checkmark

no, it's definiteley a 5500 manual.
i've ordered a laser scanner for it and will try it in the yellow position first and keep everything crossed !

I have the same problem. Can you use a 4600 scanner in lieu of a 5500?

Anyone and everyone,
does anyone know how to adjust the X/Y coordinates on the HP Colour Laserjet 5500dtn printers so that when duplex (double-sided) printing you can adjust the position of the print on the second side so that they back up exactly ie: when viewed on a light box the printed crop marks on both sides of the same piece of paper line up perfectly.
This has been a big problem for some time now and we have never found a proper solution to it.
I have been on the HP website, read all the manuals etc. all without result; therefore if you can help we would be extremely grateful.

Barry check under the print quality menu as I think there is a sub menu for set registration which you use to adjust each tray to simplex and duplex printing and allows for left right top bottom positioning.
