Laserjet 4 Envelope Wrinkle
I just installed you accordian paper jam fix kit with the video. Works great and another success.
When using this machine to print envelopes they come out wrinkled. A news group mentions a part number C2037-00072 issued by HP as a fix. Is this a real part and where can I get it? Thanks.
It's a blue piece of plastic which goes into the fuser on the right side. It exerts a little upward pressure on the heating roller which lessens the pressure on envelopes. You can accomplish much the same thing by lifting up on the shiping lever on that side. I know people who've gotten the part from HP (free), but most people you speak to there go Huh!.
Moe,
Can you tell me / explain to me / show me where the shipping lever is in the HP Laserjet 4 Plus to fix the envelope wrinkle problem?
Thank you in advance,
Bill Bunner

There are 2 vertical metal supports on the fuser. The lever is on the outside part of the right support.
