Installing duplexer onto HP 4100

I have an HP 4100. I installed a 600n adapter that works fine so I guess it's a 4100n. After that I installed a duplexing unit for the printer. I took off protector in the back of the printer and installed the duplexing unit. I noticed the connector on the right fits in fine with the printer. I intalled the drivers for the HP 4100dtn. and told the printer (driver) that there is a duplexing unit. When I print a job I specify to print on both sides of the paper but it does NOT. Is there a way of seeing in the printer acknowledges the duplexer?

Check the paper handling menu, if the printer sees the duplexer it should have a duplex on/off option there.

To add to Stephen's post if the menu shows the duplex unit then make sure it is set to on and then do a paper path test of 10 pages from the information menu and see if it duplexes. If it does, then driver issues. If it does not then you have duplex issues.
