Hp HP Color Copier 150

HP OfficeJet 6110 automatic paper sensor

I'm pretty sure the paper sensor in the machine is junk. I have not been able to use the 'automatic' paper selection command when printing for months - who knows what it selects but I get a document loaded with ink that takes two minutes to print. If I select my own paper type, printing is fine.

Recently it has been giving me the 'paper mismatch' message whenever I receive a fax, it won't print fax on regular paper, I have to insert some card stock to get it to work and then it takes about 12 tries. Same thing happens when trying to print 'align cartridges' page.

If I manually select paper type on the machine itself, printing is fine, but you can't do that when receiving a fax.

I've done all the steps in the manual, went online to HP and found a site to download new drivers for this problem, but it won't go to the page needed to do this. I called HP to point this out and find out how to download, and they wanted a $59.95 extended serice contract to tell me - or would send me a new machine for $150 - forget that.

Has anyone else had the same problem?
