Epson Epson Stylus Pro Pro

epson need new print head?

My epson stylus pro xl has been sitting for a couple of years. Just hooked it up and it prints black great, but no color. After numerous cleaning cycles and a trip to the repair shop sometimes it will print red but never blue or yellow. They said it needs a new print head but didn't recommend it as it was very expensive for an old printer. Is there a manual that can walk me through changing the print head?
thanks very much
Replacing a print head is a pretty involved and expensive procedure. Printheads typically cost $60 or more. Epson parts are anything but cheap. Then they have to be aligned. Much better idea to buy a new printer. Better resolution, faster, quieter etc. It's become a disposable society. This is unfortunate for people like me who recycle everything and try their best to keep things from winding up in landfills.
