Apple LaserWriter Select 360

Hello: I purchased an ink toner cartridge on Ebay for my Apple LaserWriter Select 360, installed it, and now all my prints have a string of small splotches in a row running down the center of each page. Is this possibly a defective cartridge and should I just bite the bullet and buy another one? Or is there some sort of fix for this problem?
You really need to ask if it is possible that a cartridge that came from pirateBay could be defective? I would be surprised if a cartridge sold on pirateBay actually worked. Good luck getting an exchange or getting your money back.

So if purchasing toner cartridges on Ebay is not a good idea, where do I buy one that is NOT defective? - Anonymous
Just so you know, those cartridges were discontinued almost 2 years ago. I don't know where they can be had anymore as all of my wholesale suppliers no longer carry them. I would start calling in my local area to see if someone carries a decent remanufacture with a guarante or just keep trying your luck on ebay. That is of course if you still want to keep your 360 and not replace it with another printer. Good luck!

Yesterday, one of the forum regulars tipped me off to some brand new 75A toners for sale on eBay for a real good price. Looking at the photos of some very distressed looking OEM packaging, I could see packaging that was discontinued over 3 years ago. This would mean the cartridges had expired back in 2002. Chances of the cartridges working for more than 100 pages are probably less than 2\%. I wouldn't hesitate to bet money that they would fail. This is so typical of the crap that people anonymously dispose of on pirateBay. I had to laugh at Leno's bit last night. "Strange items sold or not sold on eBay". Someone actually paid $51 for a jar of Rottweiler drool! How about the stone that David "might have" used to kill Goliath, $20! What topped everything was a leftover cooked vegetable from Xmas dinner. It went for a mind-boggling $2400! Wasn't even a dinner Jesus or his mother attended! Leno made good sense when he said "this is why the world hates us", throwing away our money like that.

The problem that I am finding is finding a good manufacturer of cartridges for the LaserWriter. I have just returned 3 cardriges because they were bad, they probabloy have been sitting for years, so the pages have smudges in the center, or the drum was leaking. Does anyone have a suggestion of a place that makes the toners that do work?

I have an opportunity to buy this printer for $40. The plan is to keep it as a backup if my Personal LaserWriter NTR dies, but I need info too on finding cartridges. For the NTR, HP has one that fits, but for the Select 360, the only thing I've seen after googling all morning is the Xerox 113R5, but that is not a sure thing. I'm really interested in this.

I just bought a great cartridge: Apple M1960G/A (Xerox 113R5) from a great company, - It works perfectly with my Laserwriter. I have been searching for the perfect fit and this is it. I have returned 4 different ones (other brands) this month to other suppliers they were deffective. - RuthSwinney
The Xerox model 113R005 cartridges used in Xerox 4505/4510 printers work in the Apple LW Select 360.
