Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1200

Epson Stylus Photo 1200 printing in sections

I've had my printer for about a year and for the most part it is an excellent printer, but the past few days I've encountered a problem. Whenever I try to print, it will print a portion of the image, then spit out that piece of paper. Then it will keep sucking in all the paper without printing on any of them. It'll do this for at least a minute, and won't stop even if I try to cancel the print. I tried deleting and reinstalling the driver, but that didn't help. When I tried to print a test page just now, it printed half of it, cycled a blank page through, then printed the other half on the third page.
My system is Windows XP.
It sounds like something is interfering with the operation of the paper sensor. Check to see whether something has fallen into the paper feeder assembly or has become stuck under the paper feed sensor arm.
Hope this helps.

I checked with a flashlight but couldn't see anything unusual. I don't know much about printers-- which is the paper feed sensor arm?
