Lexmark Lexmark Jetprinter 1000

Lexmark 1000 printer with WordPerfect 5.1 Win

I'm running WordPerfect 5.1 Win on Windows 95. I cannot print any WordPerfect documents. When I try to print the print dialogue box comes up but the printer makes a little noise and that all. I've downloaded the latest version of printer driver from Lexmark and it does not work with Word Perfect. It acts the same way as the driver that came with the printer. Documents from Wordpad and Lotus 123 print OK.

I tried the various spooling with the printer and still no luck.

WordPerfect has an otion of using the Windows printer driver or a WordPerfect printer driver. However, the Lexmark 1000 printer is not listed in their choices.

I need a Lexmark printer driver that will work with WordPerfect Win 5.1 or a WordPerfect printer driver for Lexmark 1000 or any other solution that anyone has for this old software.

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
You may be out of luck. I do not know your printer, but Wordperfect 5.1 is a dos program and not windows. To test your printer with dos just try a command prompt print. Go to start, run and type command. At the C prompt type cd\\windows and hit enter. Next type dir >> lpt1 and hit the enter key. If the printer is capable of dos printing it will print a directory of windows. This assumes the printer is connect to port lpt1. If it does not print the printer is a windows based printer and will not be capable of printing from a dos application. There may be some applications out there that can capture a dos print job and convert it to windows based printing, but I do not know of any.
