Unknown Printer

LaserWriter Pro 630

My printer is several years old and until recently, has been performing wonderfully. It no longer accepts standard copier quality (20#) laser paper. It gets stuck upon exiting into the paper tray. I have to guide it out and the last 1/4 of the page is rippled and curled. I open a new ream of paper, it prints ok, but within a few hours, the rippling and sticking occurs.

When I use better quality stock (textured or resume-quality bond), everything works ok. Might this be a problem w/ humidity, or a bad toner cartridge?

Did you see the exit accordion jam kit on our Printer Repair kits page? It will fix your problem.

Thanks Moe. I am assuming the kit you are referring to is the Apple Pro 600/630 Exit Jam Kit.

What does this kit actually involve? Is it an adjustment or replacement parts? I ask because I am actually considering purchasing a new printer and haven't decided whether I want to spend the time and money on a printer I may replace next month.

All our kits have a description and difficulty level. That particular kit has upper and lower rollers, 4 idler rollers and a drive belt. Of course you also get a video. It's a pretty decent printer, why spend over a thousand on a new one when you can fix it for $39? If you do buy a new one, stick with HP. The 4050 is my personal choice.

Thanks again Moe. I was actually thinking of the HP 5000GN. I really need 11x17 output. What do you think of the HP 5000 line?

I guess I will go ahead and get the repair kit and give the printer to my friend when i buy my new one. Again, thanks for your quick response.
