Hp HP DeskJet 660CSE

HP660Cse Doesn't Respond

Have an HP 660Cse from my office. Used to work fine; then someone stuck it in the corner for the last 6 months.
I plugged it in (Win98) and the OS found and installed the drivers. Both cartridges were loose inside the holders (we've got _very_ computer-literate folk). I put them back in.

The heads will come to the middle when I open the top. When I print a test page from the driver, the power light just blinks forever and there is no other activity.

I've tried all the diagnostic self-tests, but literally nothing happens, e.g., hold in the pwr button and press Resume 5X, then release power. Green power light stays on, nothing else happens; no noise, no head seeks, nada.

I've checked out the HP home page and checked the paper feed mechanisms; they seem okay.

Any other ideas? or should I just junk it?
