Lexmark Lexmark Optra R

30-40 lexmark optra r+'s

Hi, I've purchased about 30-40 Optra R+'s from a public auction. Some work fine, some don't. Those that have problems fit in to several basic categories. The problem I'm most concerned with is that many of them leave a white vertical stripe. I've read this problem on several other forums already and everyone says it is a bad toner. I've taken a perfectly functional printer's toner out and swapped them, and the problem still exists. What else could be wrong?? Thanks.

Anything blocking the laser from hitting the cartridge drum. The laser is up on top and shoots down through a slot.

Is the stripe in the middle of the page or is it along the edge? I've seen cases in which the transfer roller will come loose from the shaft and slide sideways. This will cause a void along one side usually no more than an inch wide. I only seem to see this problem with Lexmark printers.
