Hp HP LaserJet 5SI

vertical lines

I have a HP LaserJet 5SI that is printing out vertical lines only on the top of the printout. There are 6 lines and they are on the printouts before it hits the fuser. I have changed pickup and separation and transfer rollers, and the fuser. Please help.

You should have put your model number in the subject line as suggested in the forum rules. A lot of people don't read the rules, so that is why we put the edit link next to your name. I'm having trouble visualizing the vertical lines. Letter paper feeds in landscape mode, legal and tabloid feed in portrait mode. Vertical lines can be horizontal lines depending what size paper you have. Please correct your oversight and provide some more information.

I have a HP LaserJet 5SIMx that is printing out vertical lines on letter size paper and only on the top of the printout. There are 6 lines and they look as if the coating has come off of the furser but the lines are on the printouts before it hits the fuser. I have changed pickup and separation and transfer rollers, and the fuser. Please help.

I guess I didn't make it clear enough. Click on the edit link next to your original post. Then you can actually change the subject line in your original post so the forum techs will notice it when they are scanning for posts on models they are familiar with. Have you tried replacing your toner cartridge?

sounds like the toner cartridge to me, nothing else should do that.
