Epson Epson Stylus Color 600

Epson Stylus Color 600 reset

I can't get my Epson Stylus Color 600 to stop printing jibberish. I've tried unplugging it for 24 hours, starting it by pushing both the Start and the paperfeed buttons, starting it by pushing all three buttons (Start, Paperfeed, Ink Change), etc. I have also cancelled all documents to the printer. Nothing works to reset the machine so that I can print documents. Whenever I turn it on, the green light blinks a bit and then it prints page after page of jibberish. Is it time to take it to a repairman?
Try disconnecting the printer cable from both the printer and the computer and check to see it the pins are discolored/dull looking.
Then reconnect the cable. Also try a test page by pressing the paper feed button the pressing the power button. Then release the paper feeed button after a few seconds. Most problems are cable repated but you may have a driver issue that can cause that type of problem.

I hope this helps,

generally this seemed to happen to me when I interupted the printing by turning the machine off when it was actively printing.
my only solution has been to load it up and let it keep printing until it purges whatever it was working on when interupted. It seems to me that generally it goes through 80? to 100? sheets until it reaches the end. I try to just keep using a set of printed on sheets until it finishes.

I have had this problem also. If you are using Windows XP, right click on my computer and click manage. Click on services and look for the print spooling service. Stop it and then restart it. Reboot and your printer will stop printing the garbage. This is and old thread but maybe somebody out there can use this tip.
