Epson Epson Stylus Photo 2000

Dial-up connection and Epson Stylus Photo R300

After installing Epson Stylus Photo R300 I've got the following problem:

Each time I establish a dial-up connection with my ISP with the printer switched on, my Dial Up connection hangs immediately and thereafter Windows 2000 Pro hangs too (only “reset” button helps)

The only chance to establish an internet connection and successfully navigate on the web I have to:
1. Switch off the printer
2. Reboot PC
3. Never try to switch on the printer (on the printer lcd-panel make sure that the printer is switched off)
4. Connect to ISP

As soon as switch on the printer to print something – immediate HANGING of the dial-up connection and the OS thereafter (only “reset” helps)

Without going on internet (no connection established with ISP) everything looks all right – the printer doesn’t hang the system. But if I used the printer for some time and then decided to connect to ISP to navigate on the web I have to:
1. Switch off the printer
2. Reboot the PC
3. Never try to switch on the printer
4. Connect to ISP

No IRQ, DMA, IO, Memory conflicts ( no errors)
Tried to disable DMA for EVERYTHING, to slow RAM, to disable HDD’s “Write cache enabled” – nothing helps.

What to do?

Kind regards,
Have you tried to remove the modem and printer and re-install them?

What interface does the printer and modem use, serial, USB or parallel?

Yes, I've tried - all the same. Both of them use USB interface. The printer's drivers are the latest one.
The modem's - trying to get the latest.
Thank you!

If you are using a hub try connecting them direct to the computer without using a hub.

You should get the latest Intel mother board chipset software, it has newer usb 2.0 dirvers. http://downloadfinder2.intel.com

You should also get the latest service pack for Windows 2k.
