Epson Epson Stylus CX5400

Putting my epson cx5400 back together again

My cx5400 was shooting blanks, I figured it was the ink tube, so I took 2 hours to take the machine apart, and learn that the tube's fine. So...now I've gotta put this sucker back together (reversing the manual online here: http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/cx52003.html).

Attached to the print head are a fat white plastic ribbon (apparently called an FFC), a clear plastic ribbon, and another ribbon that seems torn, but I think not by me (i.e. its' supposed to be that way...though the tear keeps extending as I fool around).

These ribbons are supposed to be held in place I THINK via the cable head holder (see http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/cx520018.html), which I can attach/detach easily. But I can't figure out how to thread those FFCs, and the photo helps not at all.

I have more ink on my hands and table than in a squid cannery, my machine's in shards, my only prayer is that if I get the damned thing back together, maybe some miracle will resurrect its printing ability. Can anyone guide me over at least this one specific hump?

Thanks!
There should be the service manual in the reference section. It will be of use to you.
