Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1200

intermittent paper feed Epson 1200

Hi, and cheers to Denny Conway.
Found an old Epson 1200 which aside from needing cartridges seems OK except for intermittent failure to feed. Using 22 lb 8.5 by 11, maybe 15 sheets at a time. Every third feed or so fails to grab leaving red light on and green blinking.

Took off cover and wiped down things, re-lubed carriage rod with Teflon oil. Seems basically pretty clean.

What should I be looking for to fix this.
Roland: There is a free download of an "Epson Stylus Photo 1200 Service Manual", from fixyourownprinter.com, at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/reference/manuals/public/epson , that may be of some help in troubleshooting your printers paper feed problem. At least yopu can use it as reference in disassembly and servicing of yourb printer. I would suggest cleaning the Pick-Up/Feed-In Roller or Rollers with a "Rubber Roller Cleaner/Rubber Rejuvinator" and see if that helps. Sometimes simply cleaning and treating that rubber roller or rollers will make all the difference on paper feeding problems. Some of the best Rubber Roller Rejuvenator that I have ever used, is available in a can: Price = $10, plus shipping, from "fixyourownprinter.com", at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/specials/misc/chemicals/S03...Good Luck!
