Hp HP LaserJet 5SI

HP LaserJEt 5SI

How can i open the fuser for HP laserjet 5si to change a roller?
That is an extremely difficult fuser to disassemble. It's not something that someone could tell you how to do without showing you or without a video.

as moe has indicated, the best is to get a refurb fuser. its easy to remove, 4 screws at each corner of the printer.

5Si fuser is locked in place by two levers.

The 3SI and 4SI fusers are held in place by 4 screws.

Wow. I've taken those things apart and its not easy, especially if you're not a trained tech and don't have the best tools. Expect 5 hours of the day used if you try to dissasemble it. Hardest part is that small roller on the bottom, which is a bitch to push in place. You should check it too, because a lot of melted toner gets encrusted on it, and that causes jams.

Is your problem the issue of the main big roller sticking when it gets real hot? I just take the fuser out and let it sit for an hour to cool, and afterwards, it runs fine again. You have to do that or else it'll strip the gears and you'll have to buy a $150 replacement.
