Sharp JX9600 fusing problem
Has anyone come across the following problem and been able to fix ? Occasionally I have had to change fuser assemblies on Sharp JX9600 printers, the faulty fuser units have the transfer roller whereas the replacement fusers have a corona transfer wire instead. Im told by the supplier of the fuser units that there is no compatibility problem with using these fusers ( 9660 ones ? ) When printing the quality at the top of the page is very poor ( feint/patchy ) for about 1 to 2 inches then the rest of the page printout is normal. I'm guessing I need to adjust some preset to compensate for the change of fuser type.
Anyone offer advice on this problem please ?
It kind of doesn't make sense. I've never seen a 9600 with a corona wire. They came out when the technology changed to charge transfer roller. Why would they go back to corona wires? I'd try and find a different source for fuser assemblys.
Theres a mixture of JX9600 and 9660s on the site I work at, in the end I send the units with the new fuser out to an external printer repair company in the UK explaining the fault and a week later the 9600 is returned with the fuser unit ( with corona wire ) working. Tried to get my bosses to see if the company will let me in on their secret but no joy. Come back HP all is forgiven....Thanks Andy UK.
They're probably just changing the quartz lamp. I think you should insist you get your own fusers back, especially if it's taking a week.
