Paper Jam error 13.14 on HP 5si MX

I have a Laserjet 5si MX that is occasionally getting a paper jam with error 13.14 when printing from tray 3 and the manual feed tray. The paper is picked up and printed OK but then jams just before it goes through the final rollers into the output tray. When this happens you can see the paper is about to be ejected but then it stops at the final rollers above the output tray. This problem doesn't occur if we print to the left face-up output bin. The problem now occurs 75\% of the time.

At first I thought this was a problem with our headed paper because that is in our tray 3 and it is thicker than our plain paper in tray 2. However, I just swapper the paper around and the headed printed OK from tray 2 but the plain jammed from tray 3.

This same sort of jam has also occurred when printing envelopes fed from the manual feeder, although I don't know if this is related or not.

Can anyone help with this? I see this web site has a "Tray 3 Paper Jam Repair Kit". Is this for the problem I just described or do I need to do something else to fix this?

common failure with this printers from time to time those rollers where the paper stops needs to be cleaned, u may wanna try rub some alcohol that will fix ur problem at least for a while but you really need to replaced those rollers to have the best performance, a maintenace kit comes with all the rollers and a fuser, so if it is time for a new fuser this is your best bet if not just get the rollers they wont be more than 20 dollars but a maint kit would be around 180 or more

Thanks, I will try what you suggest. You mention the fuser. This is my first laser printer and I bought it second hand; how often should the fuser be replaced or how will I know when to replace it?
