Julio: I'm guessing you might be talking about the WASTE INK COUNTER RESET PROCEDURE. If so, then you might want to check out the "SSC UTILITY", at
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html . That utility has several options that you can check into. Unfortunatly, that "SSC Service Utility" does not work on all Epson Printers and not on all Operating Systems and sometimes will not even work on actually listed printer models, so you will have to check it out for yourself...The only other source for a FREE RESET PROCEDURE [that I know of] is one posted earlier by WES on this Printer Repair Site: www.resetters.com . Because that site is actually a Russian Site, it is of course hard to figure out. You will probably need to use sime type of TRANSLATION PROGRAM, such as "ImTranslator/PROMT Online", at
http://www.paralink.com/ims/ , just to be able to try and use it...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Ezekial...Just to let you know: There are only two cleaning solutions that should be used on Epson Printheads. "Distilled Water" and the "Epson Printhead Cleaning Solution". Most other cleaning solutions and cleaning cartridges simply do not usually work, or can even cause possible damage. The reason I push the kit sold by FYOP, is that its the correct solution to use and is relatively inexpensive. People are using this FYOP Printer Repair Site, for the free help that it provides. It only makes sense, to buy products that you may need to use on your printer, from that same site that is giving you that free help. To me, its simply a way to help support the FYOP repair site, so that they can provide that free help. You don't have to buy the FYOP products, or even accept the free help and advice that you are given. You can even pay the actual manufactor for technical support [if your printer is out of warranty], that does not usually help as much as the free help you get from FYOP. Thats always your choice...NEWUSER is right, about about me not working for FYOP. I simply volunteer to help on this Printer Repair Site, in my free time, as a way to help people with Epson Printer problems, when I can. I am actually employeed by an "Epson Authorized Service Dealer", as a printer repair technician. Sometimes I'm legally limited by Epson Company, as to what information that I can release and the help that I can give, but at least I try to help...Denny Conway

What exactly are you trying to do with the adjustment program? Best I can tell the only adjustment program is for the epson color 3000. The 700 comes with a printer driver and printer utilities software that should provide you what you need.
Here is the link to the color 3000 adjustment program:

John: ESI offers downloads of a free SERVICE MANUAL for your "C20". I don't know if that manual includes the actual reset procedure, or not, so you will have to check it out yourself. You can see that available Service Manual [which apparently is in 5 separate downloads from ESI, by clicking on the following links:
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/1378/Epson_C20_C40.html &
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/1379/Epson_C20_C40.html &

http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/1381/Epson_C20_C40.html &
http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/1381/Epson_C20_C40.html . Although the last two links appear to be the same address, they will take you to a different download. If that available service manual, does not actually contain the reset procedure, then you can see if the "SSC Service Utility" will work on your particular printer. Unfortunatly, that "SSC Service Utility" does not work on all Epson Printers and not on all Operating Systems and sometimes will not even work on actually listed printer models, so you will have to check it out for yourself. Just in case that source does not work: You may actually need to go on-line to try and locate the actual "RESET PROCEDURE", to buy and download for reference. I have not checked, but you can normally find Reset Procedures for most Epson Printers, from 2manuals.com, at

Wagner: There is a "Stylus Color 600,640,660 Printers Service Program", available to buy and download for around $5.00, from 2manuals.com, at
http://www.2manuals.com/product_info.php?cPath=1_56_50&products_id=204 ...REMEMBER: That "Maintenance Request Error" is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is to replace the Waste Ink Pad/Pads with a new one/ones and then reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter. If you just reset the counter and don't replace the pads, then your printers old pads will eventually overflow and normally start leaking ink out the bottom of your printer. You can see "Exploded Parts Diagrams" of most Epson Ink Jet Printers and can also check on possible parts ordering, by Compass Micro Inc, at
http://www.compassmicro.com/parts_select.cfm . Some people actually wash the ink out of the old pads, by holding them under running cold water, then dry them out and simply reinstall them back into their printer. The choice on what to actually do, is yours to make. I would at least recommend getting that Waste Ink Counter reset procedure and performing it first, to make sure your printer will then work...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Denny: Thanks for your comments. I took the waste pads (two pieces) out of my printer. This was easy to do using a sharp skewer to hook them up. I rinsed them under running cold water. This took a while until all the ink was squeezed out. (Hint: wear protective gloves if you don't want stained fingers) I dried the pads on a radiator for a day and then re-fitted them. Everything is working well. I have passed this information on to a number of my friends and they are very grateful for the advice - especially the freeware.

You are completely wrong.
If you know the problem and parts required to solve it you don't need to buy them from FYOP.
In the board you get informations, advices and solutions, nobody ask for money to make you understand what's going on in your printer.
And Dmzcompute and Denny Conway do not work for FYOP...

Artur: I don't recommend using any cleaning solutions other than "Distilled Water", or the actual "Epson Printhead Cleaning Solution". Ammonia, as well as most other cleaning solutions, can actually cause damage to the printhead assemblies in Epson Printers. You might want to try using the Epson Stylus Head Cleaning Solution, available through fixyourownprinter.com, at
http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kits/epson , but it will only help, if there is an actual clogged printhead assembly. When it opens, click-on "Epson Stylus Head Cleaning Solution" thats listed for your particular printer. The Epson solution sells for around $10.00 plus shipping. It includes a syringe and some Epson printhead cleaning solution, which is designed to dissolve most clogs, especially if you were using Epson inks. This is the same chemical used by Epson in their service department. You can try it if you want to and see if you can get the printhead nozzles to open up again, but that will only help if they are actually clogged. It was basically designed by Epson Company for use on their older models of ink jet printers, but people have been using it on the newer models, with success reported. IF YOU DECIDE TO, TRY THE "EPSON STYLUS HEAD CLEANING SOLUTION", JUST REMEMBER: The "nozzles" inside the printhead assembly can be easily damaged by using to much force on the plunger of the syringe. Damage can even occur when you are using the Epson Stylus Head Cleaning Solution method, if you actually try to force the fluid thru the nozzle. To much force/pressure can damage the little tubes inside the Nozzle Assembly and then it will never work again. One individual printhead nozzle is so tiny, that it will not accept a human hair. You can see why they can get clogged so easily, or even why the nozzles can be so easily damaged. The correct method is to use the syringe to add the fluid into the nozzle and then leave the fluids set inside the nozzle for a day or two, to try and dissolve a possible bad clog. If you remove the "Top Cover Assembly", then you can leave the printhead assembly parked in its normal home position, at the far right side. Then any ink & fluids that are purged during the cleaning, will normally travel thru the cleaning station hoses, to the waste ink pads. If you have the "Print Cartridge Holder Assembly", positioned away from the home position, then you will need to slide strips of paper towels or coffee filters under that assembly, to soak up any expelled ink and fluids, or it can get all over. Sometimes you might have to use the fluids several times to be able to dissolve the clog in the printhead nozzles. Sometimes the clog will never dissolve, or it actually damages the nozzles. The longer the clog has been in, the worse it is to remove. Again, if the cleaning fluids don't help, then its generally time to invest in a new printer. In some more expensive printers, you may want to get an estimate to replace the printhead assembly, but as a general rule, its not really economical to do in the smaller Epson Ink Jet style printers. You can generally buy a new small printer cheaper than you can have your old one repaired for. EXAMPLE: The printhead assembly in the "C80" Printer sells for around $120 to $130. There is a REVIEW of the "Printhead Cleaning Solution", as well as general "Printhead Cleaning Instructions", that is available to view at

Arthur: As you installed new ink cartridges, I would have to guess that the print heads are probably still partially clogged or starting to fail, especially as there are actual white lines or void lines showing up on the nozzle test pages. If the actual print heads are not clogged, then either the ink cartridges are going bad, the print heads are starting to fail, or there is some other hardware/parts related failure. If after installing those new ink cartridges, the nozzle tests actually printed out and looked ok, with all nozzles printing, that would usually indicate that there was no actual clogging involved. Of course if those new ink cartridges that you installed, happened to be Non-Epson Ink Cartridges, then there is a slight chance that those Generic or Third-Party ink cartridges could still be causing problems. Depending on how many sets of "print head cleaning cycles" & "nozzle tests" that you ran [after installing those new ink cartridges], its even possible that those cartridges may actually be low on ink and causing problems. Running a lot of "print head cleaning cycles" and "nozzle tests" can use up the ink inside those new ink cartridges. On some models, you could install a new cartridge and run between 10-15 cleaning cycles and tests and its possible to empty the new cartridge. However, if some of those nozzles are not open, when you run an actual nozzle test page, then I would still guess that they are probably clogged. Its also possible that they are simply not firing, but that would indicate a failing print head assembly...Denny Conway
by Denny Conway on Apr 4, 2005 at 11:10am
Somewhere air is passing into the printhead, cartridges are not sealing correctly with printer carriage or ink conduits are damaged.
Are you using original cartridges?
by newuser on Apr 4, 2005 at 11:10am
Archie...Reguarding Non-Epson Inks & Ink Cartridges: Unfortunatly, not all "Generic" & "Third-Party" ink cartridges are made the same and none of them actually contain the right formulation of ink, for the Epson Printers [formula is patented by Epson Company]. Some are probably close and seem to be better than others, but some simply can clog-up or even damage the "Printhead Assemblies" on epson printers, especially the newer models made with-in the last few years. I understand the differences in the costs of the non-epson ink and ink cartridges, compared to the actual epson ink cartridges and the choice is always yours to make. It really does not matter to me what type of ink cartridges you decide to use in your epson printer, but I do feel you should know that its actually the wrong ink and can cause possible problems in Epson Printers. JUST TO LET YOU KNOW: Epson ink jet printers are one of the few printers on the market that seem to have so many problems with non-manufactors inks. Epson printers use a completely different printhead inking system than most other brands of printers and correct epson ink formulation is vital. Those printheads are one of the reasons that the epson printers make such quality color prints, that so many people rave about. Epsons "Micro Piezo Ink Jet Technology" and the ultrafine 4-picoliter ink droplets used in most of the epson ink jet printers, just don't always work well with non-epson inks. Most, if not all of the other manufactors, use thermal or bubble jetprint heads and because the other brands use a totally different system, they don't seem to have as many problems using refilled inks or non-manufactor's ink cartridges. There are people that say they use "Generic" or "Third-Party" inks or ink cartridges in their epson printer and have never had a problem, but I've seen and read about too many problems caused by using non-epson ink. No matter what anyone says, all blacks and colors are not the same. Printer manufacters do not make available their ink formulation and in most cases, the formulation is patented. Any difference in the ink formulation can clog the small printhead nozzles or damage other critical components. One individual printhead nozzle is so tiny, that it will not accept a human hair, so you can see why they can get clogged so easily, or even why the nozzles can be so easily damaged. epson has many different formulas just for its black ink, for all the different epson printers, let alone for their colored inks. Generally if you are using non-epson ink or ink cartridges, or refilling your old cartridges, you are using the wrong ink for your printer and sooner or later you will have some type of problems, almost everyone does. You are taking your chances by using third-party or generic ink cartridges, or even by refilling your old cartridges...Reguarding possible nozzle damage during syringe cleaning: The nozzles inside the printhead assembly can be easily damaged by using to much force on the plunger of the syringe. The correct method is to use the syringe to add the fluid into the nozzle and then leave the fluids set inside the nozzle for a day or two, to try and dissolve a possible bad clog...Denny Conway

Archie: DURING A PRINTHEAD CLEANING CYCLE OR EVEN A NORMAL PRINTING CYCLE: The pump in the Cleaning Station Assembly, actually creates a vacuum [thru pumping action] which pulls the ink from the Print Head Nozzles, thru the felt Cap Assembly, thru the hoses and onto the Waste Ink Pads, where it is absorbed. REMEMBER: NO PUMPING ACTION = NO INK FLOW & NO VACUUM = NO INK FLOW. A LOSS OF PUMPING ACTION OR A LOSS OF VACUUM CAN HAPPEN WHEN: The pump quits; hoses get clogged; the hoses come off; the hoses get crimped/pinched; springs under the cap assy fall off; the cap assy comes unhooked from its mounting points; the cap assy gets so dirty [build-up of dust, dirt, lint, hair, etc.] that it fails to seal correctly. Generally speaking, the pump seldom fails but after a year or two of steady use, the capping assembly and head may need some attention. REMEMBER: If the felt cap assembly, with the rubber seal/ring around it, does not seal under the printhead assembly correctly, then the vacuum is lost and no ink is pulled thru the nozzles. Check for an e-mail from me, with some additional info in that area...HERE IS SOME GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE "CAP ASSEMBLY" [felt pad] AND "CLEANING BLADE ASSEMBLY" [rubber type blade], WHICH ARE BOTH PARTS OF THE "CLEANING STATION ASSEMBLY" : When the "print cartridge holder assembly" is parked in its normal home position [far right side of the printer], the cap assembly is directly under the printheads. The cap assy is easy to identify, because it is a rectangular shape, with a rubber lip/ridge around an inner felt pad. This felt pad usually has stripes of all four colors of ink on it [which is often referred to a "Rainbow Pattern" effect]... TECH NOTE #1: Some models of Epson printers have two seperate cap assy's, one for the color printhead assy and one for the black printhead assy...TECH NOTE #2: REMOVE THE "TOP COVER ASSY", to be able to service that assembly and surrounding area...The "cap assy" is mounted into a plastic holder assembly and is sometimes referred to as: capping mechanism. The cap assy not only seals the printheads when not in use [prevents ink from drying out/thickening/clogging], it also creates a vacuum seal around around the printhead, which enables ink suctioning to take place. No suctioning, no proper ink flow: results in poor printing, or no printing. There is a taller piece of plastic ["plastic bar"] standing up, to the rear end of the cleaning station assembly, just to the right of that felt type cap assembly. Its on the top side of this assy [kind of like a short flag pole]. This "plastic bar" is what the entire "print cart holder assy/printhead assy" pushes against [as it is moved along by the carriage assy] when it returns to its normal home position. With the top cover removed, you can maually [once its unlocked] slide the "print cart holder assy" in and out of its home position and actually see this "plastic bar" being pushed back-n-forth. If you then slide the "print cart holder assy" over to the left side of the printer, you can manually push against this "plastic bar". Now you can see where a spring causes that assembly to move back-n-forth. You can see the surrounding assy move back-n-forth as you push on the "plastic bar"... REMINDER: Most of the "cleaning station" parts have wet, black ink on them. If those parts/assy have not been recently cleaned, when you touch something, you'll probably get ink on your fingers and hand. You can wipe off wet [or dry ink], with water and Q-Tips fairly easily, as most inks are "water soluable". Its a good idea to use wet Q-Tips to wipe off any excess ink from around that rubber lip that surrounds the felt pad/cap assy, so it can make good contact as it does its sealing process. Just to the left side of the cap assy sets a rubber "cleaning blade", but it is usually partially pulled towards the front of the printer and away from the cap assy and is hard to always see. This cleaning blade moves forward to clean off the bottom of the printhead assemblies during normal printer operation and when running the "printhead cleaning cycle/routine". You can push the cap assy to the right with that plastic lever that is standing upwards and if you use a small flat screwdriver, you can push the cleaning blade forward for cleaning. Once the blade is out, you can release the cap assy and it will just push against the cleaning blade. Using damp Q-Tips clean all around the cleaning blade and the cap assembly. As those two parts are involved with the actual cleaning routine, you want them to be clean. Once that cleaning station assy is fairly clean you can do a pumping test to check the printers pumping routine, if you want to...Denny Conway

Arthur: Nozzle damage from to much pressure applied to the plunger of a syringe, is inside the actual print head assembly and is not visable. Usually, the tiny hoses to those nozzles get blown off by excess pressure and then the nozzle cannot print out any ink. There is no way to really determine if those nozzles are actually damaged or not, that I know of. They either work or they don't. If they are not actually clogged, but still do not print, then you can assume that they have failed. If the nozzles were actually working for awhile, but then stopped working, its also possible that the firing signal from the Main Board Assembly is failing, which would mean replacing that board. Basically, electrical signals from that board, tell each nozzle when to fire, which results in ink printing. Either way, a failing print head or failing main board, is not ecomomical to replace...Denny Conway

Hallo Denny conway, can u tell me where i can download the qbasic Q80A12V.BAS file thank's
by joni on May 17, 2005 at 8:47am
joni: I work on the actual printers, but not on computer systems or their related software. So I'm sorry, but I do not actually know. If its an actual file that comes on the software for the actual printer, then you might want to check with the "Epson Technical Support Department" and see if they can actually help. phone. You can e-mail the "Epson Technical Support Department", for possible free help or advice, at
http://www.epson.com and then click-on "Proceed With E-Mail". They state on their web-site, that they "will respond via e-mail within 1 business day". You can also call the epson technical support department, but if your printer is out of warranty, you will need a credit card before the technicians can help you, because there is a charge for technical support over the phone. To see available phone numbers for technical support, go on-line to Epson @ "
http://www.epson.com ", or call the Epson Automated Support Locator @ 1-800-442-2110 [press 1, then 1 & following prompts]...Good Luck! Denny Conway

**** Does anyone have the Epson CX4600 Adjustment program?
I have searched high and low, and it seems there doesnt seem to be any adjustment software to reset the ink waste protection counter for this printer. Is there anyone who owns this multifunction printer, or knows how to reset this counter? I have looked everywhere, but there has got to be an Epson Pro in here somewhere that can help me.
Please email me the Adjustment Software for the CX4600 if anyone has it, be glad to return the favor in anyway I can. Thanks.

d_link: Just so you will know: A Service Error where all LED's/Lights are flashing at the same time [some models the lights will be alternatly blinking], or where you get an "Unknown Error Message", or a "General Error Message", or even a message telling you that "Parts inside your printer at the end of their service life, contact your dealer for replacement", or "Parts inside your printer require maintenance or replacement, call your service company", is normally a Maintenance Request Error. The maintenance request error is actually a Waste Ink Ink Pad Error and usually your remedy is to replace the waste ink pad/pads with a new one/ones and then reset the Internal Waste Ink Pad Counter. If you just reset the counter and don't replace the pads, then your printers old pads will eventually overflow and normally start leaking ink out the bottom of your printer. You can see exploded parts diagrams for most epson ink jet printers and can also check on possible parts ordering, by Compass Micro Inc, at
http://www.compassmicro.com/parts_select.cfm . Some people actually wash the ink out of the old pads, by holding them under running cold water. Then they simply dry them out and reinstall them back into their printer. The choice on what to actually do, is yours to make. I would at least recommend getting that waste ink counter reset procedure and performing it first, to make sure your printer will then work. You may be able to reset that waste ink counter, using the SSC SERVICE UTILITY available at
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/sscserve.exe . Unfortunatly, that utility only works using a windows operating system. You can check and see if your particular epson printer is compatible, by going to
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html ...Here's some previously posted info that may also help. "NEWUSER Re: Epson Error and power light flashing by newuser (4/5/05 11:10 AM). To reset the error download this utility:
http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html . Once installed run the program and configure it, closing the main window and right clicking the icon in the tray area, from there choose Configure and select your printers model. After configuration, select Protection counter -> Reset protection counter, it should be able to clear the error message. If that does not actually work, then the only suggestion I can give is to perform a soft-reset before resetting counter. Remove also the Epson status agent, it detects errors and it may hinder communication with the printer, then reboot your pc. As profile choose the one sscservice didn't use after autoconfiguration, check for printer response. Remember that you should also clean the waste ink pads located at the printer bottom. For a more in-depth procedure by NEWUSER, go to his site at
http://myprinter.altervista.org/simplefaq/mysimplefaq.html#counter "....Unfortunatly, that ssc service utility may not actually work on all epson printers and not on all operating systems, so you will have to check it out for yourself. Just in case that source does not work: You may actually need to go on-line to try and locate the actual reset procedure, to buy and download to reset that waste ink counter...There is an "Epson Stylus C60 Printer Information Page", that also includes the C42 series, that you can view at
http://epsonhelp.freehttp.com/C60.html . It does have a section on the left side you can click-on, titled WASTE INK PAD SERVICING and also a section titled HOUSING REMOVAL, that may be of some help to you, if you want to try the needed servicing...Good Luck! Denny Conway

Denny Conway ,
You are really a genius in fixing problems with Epson Printers. I admire your effort in delivering the minute information that is required to solve problems in printer.
Sir, I have a problem in my Epson C43SX printer. It printing nothing on the paper. I tried headcleaning for several times and got fixed and one fine day nothhing started to work. Its now printing a blank page. I disassembled the printer top cover assy and even dismantled the head unit after great patience in examining the locks in the Printer head unit and I washed it thoroughly with water and head cleaning solution. And i fixed it back . But of no use the Problem still persists . It prints only blank pages . But I find droplets of ink in the Cap assy. That means the ink flow is there in the head. Now I have a suspicion that there might be a gap between the head unit and the paper may have been increased after cleanin the head unit. Is there any adjustments that can be used to reduce the gap between head and paper ? I have two epson printers with same problem.
Kindly help me out of this problem.
Regards
Selvaa
by veeselvaa on Aug 5, 2005 at 11:19pm
Selvaa: I'm not actually trained on the newer epson printer models, so I'm not that framiliar with them. However, if ink is flowing thru the "Print Head Assembly", then you can assume its not clogged and that really only leaves a failing print head assembly, or possible even an electrical related failure. I'm sorry, but there's no gap adjustment that I am aware of. As the print head is very easily damaged, if it is actually removed, my guess would be that is what is wrong. Either that or there is no actual electrical signal getting to the print head from the main board assembly [loose electrical connection, bad board, or bad print head]. That electrical signal is what causes those nozzles to fire and print. No signal results in no printing, but the ink can still be pulled thru the nozzles by the vacuum type of force created by the pumping mechanism, so thats why you can see ink in the cap assembly area. I'm sorry that I cannot really be of any help to you...Denny Conway

I guess I shouldn't have tried everything all at once. My Magenta wouldn't print but all the other colors were okay. So I downloaded the SSCserver utility program, and soaked the sponge pad with cleaning solution for over 5 hours. I turned the printer on after the soaking, opened up the utility program, and found out the the utility program wouldn't recognized my printer. I have tried all the options and settings in the program with no improvement. I used Epson's own utility to run the head cleaning, with the same problem as before (no magenta). I soaked the pad again and injected some cleaning solution on to the spike for the magenta cartridge. Turned off the printer and went to sleep. Next morning when I turned on the printer, all the green lights were flashing, the 2 red lights (error and ink) were on steadily. The numeric read-out shows "E". Resetting power did not help. I even tried reloading the SSCserve utility hoping that it could do some magic. You would be correct if you guess that it did not. I would really appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Hi,
I have a Stylus photo 1290 and got some trouble whith the print head, after five years of good prints.
I bought a new one, replaced it, and I have now to make some adjustments.
I tried to use the epson adjustment program (SP8912913W98E), but after the first window (model name, port selection, destination, program type), I get an error message when I click the "OK" button : "communication error"
Has somebody any idea about what could be wrong ?
Thanks
by mike42 on Mar 28, 2006 at 11:34am
Make sure that the printer interface is plugged in and that there is no error on the printer. Turn on the printer and have it ready before you start the adjustment program.
by Chel on Mar 28, 2006 at 1:02pm
The printer interface is OK, and I turn the printer on before starting adjustment program.
I tried a lot of things, like to desinstall epson driver, to kill Epson status agent, but I always get this warning : "communication error" !
Another strange thing, when I use the SSC Service Utility program, it works very well !

I have an Epson Stylus 3000 and have purchased, through eBay, a manual on tearing the printer apart and, of course, and it came with the scserve.exe program, when I load this in DOS or in Windows DOS emulation mode, I do not get a clear screen command, so everytime a new page loads it types over the old and leaves too many characters to even read to adjust my printer. I know that was a really long run-on sentence, but it explains my problem. Has anyone else run into this problem and have a solution?
I am actually have an older Mac running a Rip Server for my office, and I know a little DOS, enough to get by on at least.
Thanks!
by macdeuce on Mar 31, 2006 at 1:03pm
Actually the program is not scserve.exe, it is scseries.exe, I mis-typed it.
The scserve.exe, does not work with my 3000.

Google the "SSC SERVICE UTILITY" download it and configure it then click on the icon in the system tray. Click on "Protection Counter" and click on reset counter then ytpe "y" and you should be all set. The ssc service utility works on a lot of Epson models.
by Anonymous on Apr 1, 2006 at 11:48am
Nevermind, I found out that DOS wasn't loading Ansi.sys, so it wasn't displaying correctly.
I still am having trouble getting one ink to show up though...I think its because I changed back and forth a few times between regular epson inks to archival inks then I started using DayGlo inks which are awesome!
by macdeuce on Apr 3, 2006 at 8:20am
Hello, Lynn. It's just the conclusion I arrived to. There is actually a problem between Epson adjustment program and windows XP.
So I put the Epson program on another PC with windows 95, connected my printer to the LPT1 port, and all worked fine.
Thank for your answer.

It appears that Epson is now zoning its printers so that for instance an Epson C67 sold in Asia has different firmware installed to that same model sold in Australia. Compatible chip makers are finding that their auto reset chips which work in the Asian model will not work on the Australian model, even though both printers take the same Epson cartridge. This may explain why the Russian CCS utility will not reset the waste tank on C67 Epson printer. The chip makers are having to modify their chips for the different zones, probably the software utilities for Epson will have to also allow for zoning. Expect more of this taking place as the printer manufacturers try and lock out the aftermarket industry.

gd day! can anyone help me finding adjustment program for Epson C67 Printer Adjustment.... Thanks!
I am having terrible problems printing - I have an Epson stylus D68 Photo Edition and I cannot get it to print - I have changed and cleaned several times but still no luck. It did print for a while and then I changed the ink cartrdiges but did not use the epson one, surely this wouldn't stop it from printing. I had used the similar ones previously. Any advice please anyone? I am loathe to have to buy a new printer. My printer is only about 3 months old and is not used too much.

by ashutosh on Sep 5, 2006 at 4:38am
I need to thank somebody, on this thread I believe, for advice that flat-out worked, but I can't find your post to identify you. Do hope you see this or that someone passes it along to you. I had struggled doggedly but unsuccessfully to get my excellent little old Epson Stylus Color 670 back in service after washing the waste ink pads. You said WITH THE PRINTER OFF, PRESS THE PAPER AND INK BUTTONS, THEN POWER ON ... HOLD THE PAPER AND INK BUTTONS UNTIL THE PAPER LIGHT ONLY FLASHES ... THEN PRESS AND HOLD THE INK BUTTON UNTIL IT RESETS (ABOUT 10 SECONDS). It worked! Let me know if you see this.

Dear sir, madam printer is LX-300+ and after 1 year running in a warehouse (dusty environment). It seems that the printhead need to be re-allign (it prints shading characters). Ive spayed the gears &
the stick that support the head(I don't know the name) with wd40, but no avail.
I've downloaded the LX300PADJ.ZIP and run the lx-300+.exe. It ask the belt name, printer select, setting file, process select, etc.. Sorry for this dumb question, but I don't know how to use this LX300PADJ, and I'm not sure about entering random values (afraid it could make it worse). Could anybody help me? Thank you very much in advance & sorry for my poor english..

in addition I have 2 LX-300+ printers that have this kind of problem, sent them for service in local store but the technician gave up. Currently I'm depending on my last LX-300+ and I'm afraid the last one sooner or later will have this 'disease'. Tried to prolonged it's life though by using covers and lubrication, but i'm still curious about this. As LX-300+ price is still about US$170 in Indonesia, I don't like the idea of buying another LX-300. Could anyone suggest a similar printer that's more/equally reliable?
I've used this printer to print invoices on contionous form, and really love it. But, you know, just in case... Many thanks

Thanks for the tips on this wonderful software.
------------------------
Yesterday i got this error message that parts inside my printer are at the end of their service life.
I read some posts on the internet that usually it is just a clogged up hose.
I was able to disassemble my cx5100 printer this morning then i washed the waste pads (i saw an enormous amount of ink dumped in there!)
After i washed it, i tried to start up the printer again but i got the same error message requesting me to contact service.
After i read the comments in this forum, i downloaded the SSC utility and reset the waste counter.
Thank you guys, i was planning to buy another printer tomorrow because i have still so many orders to print - BUT NOW i don't have to buy a new one anymore or go to any service center!
