Epson Epson Stylus CX5400

Printing Problem

I brought my epson cx5400 with me to school, and i misplaced the paper support in the back. Right now, i have it close to the wall so that the paper is leaning against the wall. However, it seems like i am having paper feeding problems. 25\% of the time, the print out will be fine, but 75\% of the time, the paper looks as if the printer started printing before the paper was fully loaded. The top of the page is missing and there is a big margin on the bottom. First off, is it likely due to the fact that i dont have my paper support? If i am unable to find it, where could i get a replacement? Is there anything i can do in the meantime to fix this, or is it possibly a hardware problem?

Adam: I'm assuming that your printer was working correctly with its origional Paper Support installed and you have not had any bad jams that you had to forcefully remove, by yanking out the paper, especially in the backwards direction. In that case I would have to guess that its probably related to that missing support and possibly to the angle that the paper is feeding in at now. If you cannot locate your old paper support, then for "Exploded Parts Diagrams" of most Epson Ink Jet Printers and or possible parts ordering, by Compass Micro Inc, go to http://www.compassmicro.com/parts_select.cfm ...Good Luck!
