Hp HP DeskJet 600

HP Officejet 600

I recently upgraded my computer to a WinXP box from a Win98 box. I never had a problem before, but after the upgrade I cannot receive faxes. What happens is the fax picks up the line and then stalls. If I hit the start button, then it receives the fax without a problem. I get a lot of faxes and am not able to babysit the machine 24/7. For the record, the fax is set to automatically answer. I have distinctive ring and it is set to answer double rings. Any ideas would be helpful.
It seems like their are lots of posts concerning problems with printers that existed before XP.

Did you use the driver built into XP? If so, I suggest uninstalling the driver and downloading the latest version from HP.

You can have two drivers for the same printer.

So you can install the current driver from HP while the other driver is still on the machine.
