Apple LaserWriter II NT Printer Problems

Hello. I'm trying to get an Apple LaserWriter II NT printer to work on my PC but have been met with no success so far. I would appreciate any help anyone wants to offer. I'm running Windows 98 SE. According to the printer manual (see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=50128) it is possible to do this. I've connected the printer to my computer using a 25 pin male to 9 pin female null modem (serial) cable. I'm using the COM 1 port on my PC. I've adjusted the dip switches on the printer and have installed the drivers and postscript files for the printer from the internet (see: http://www.adobe.com/products/printerdrivers/windows.html , www.adobe.com). I have also installed the correct printer driver from the Win 98 CD but I've no luck with that either. I've played around with the printer settings to no avail. I can't print anything. The print monitor seems to think that it's sending sucessfully to the printer but the printer doesn't react. I get no error messages. The printer does work because it prints its default startup test page whenever it's turned on and I can sucessfully interface it with a Mac.. Please, someone, what do I do? What went wrong?
