Unknown Printer

Everytime i switch on the printer, it will stuck at the end of the initiation. I need to restart it in order to do a job. Any suggestion?
Open the lid and look at the service station on the right side of the printer. At the rear of the service station you should see a black plastic arm sticking up at a slight diagonal. These arms tend to break off and fall down into the printer. We have replacement arms if you need one.

I think i have the same problem, but can't find the 'black plastic arm 'your referring to in a response dated 10-15-2000.
My problem only exists when the Printer is 1st turned on.( it's like a ratcheting sound, the printer freezes and all the lites are blinking..if you turn off the printer and turn it back on again its works fine.)
Please help with suggestions...and where can i get a diagram or picture to locate these parts?
I also have an HP693C with a similar problem.
Any help will be appreciated,
D. Smith

The 693C does not have an arm on it. The arms were only on the 500 series. If you have one you can't find the arm on, it probably fell off. Turn the printer upside down and shake it and you'll find it.

Hello, I have a problem with finding used parts for this model of printer. The mother board for a HP DJ682C series in the back were it pluggs into is gone and I have not used this printer much at all, if you can help or give referance to my problem I can let my girl's use it before buying another printer.
