5si mis-feed/jam fix-it?

I would like your thoughts on this one.
We have several HP 5Si's that are misfeeding, then detecting a jam condition when feeding from tray 3 or 4. The paper stops in the right side
feed area and the printer detects a jam.
Out of desperation, after trying feed rollers, toners, etc, I tried a dry teflon lubricant on the feed area, includuding just before the toner.
It has been printing fine ever since.
What would you think would be a more permanent solution? Sandpapering the surfaces, or something?
If you find paper on right lower door and no paper under the toner cartridge it may be Second-Pass Roller or Solenoid on the Paper Input Unit. 5Si are famous for jaming on tray 3 and 4.

The complete fix is the Paper Input Unit. This way you are replacing all the feed rollers and not just the 2nd pass roller. You also are replacing the magnetic clutches which can cause problems especially on heavily used printers. Jamming from tray 4 - the 2000 sheet feeder - you need to replace the VTU or vertical transfer unit. You can always just replace the rubber rollers only but you have to clean all the plastic rollers and guides while you have the Paper input unit or the VTU apart.
