Epson Epson Stylus Photo 1200

Help please Epson 1200

Every time I try to print using the LPT1 port I get an error message
"there was an error printing to LPT1 for the the printer (Epson Stylus Photo 1200)". I have tried using USB port (it works without any problems), new cables, new drivers, printing from a different program, Changing BIOS settings, updating virus software, none of this solved the problem. I need to use the LPT1 port to calabrate new head installation.
Have you changed the "port settings" for the Epson 1200 to LPT1 ?? If it is left set to "USB" there will be no communication through LPT1. The selection of "port" is not automatic unless you use "find new hardware" after uninstalling the printer and its drivers, in which case you should of course have the suitable drivers available, and the printer connected to LPT1 and powered up.
