Apple Apple LaserWriter 360

repost:Subject: re: LW Select 360 paper jam/amber

sorry about repost I cannot find my question or answer; I guess your server had a problem? here goes:Hello, I am have a apple laserwriter select 360 and the problem is related to the paper jam light coming on. The printer powers up, cycles ,and the front most roller tries to turn and makes a "clunk, clunk, clunk" sound and then the paper jam light goes amber and that's it. Upon further investigation there is a solinoid/switch on the roller that grabs the paper and it opens/closes to let the roller go through it's grab/advance cycle. It appears that the switch is not opening so the roller is stopped and the roller gears jam and cause the clunk sounds because they are jumping because they are stationary. This is what I can tell, I'm sure you've seen this before and was wondering what you think and if you sell the switch to fix the problem. Any info and insight would be appreciated! Thanks! Billy
I didn't respond because I hadn't seen the problem before, had no parts to fix it and no diagnosis to give you without seeing the actual problem. I don't like to guess at stuff, so if I can't give an accurate diagnosis, I don't. Hopefully someone else reading this board can help. I don't pretend to know everything. If I had the printer in front of me, I could probably give you a diagnosis in a matter of minutes.
