Apple Apple StyleWriter II

Apple Laserwriter II

I have a apple laserwriter II. The problem is the error lights (starting from the left Green,Orange,Red,) just stay on. The last light to the right is not on. I wish this thing was like a HP II/III with a display that could give me a error. Hopefully someone has a book or manual that will tell me what the error means. It could be anything from the fuser to the high voltage power supply and I can't tell simply by looking at the lights. I would appreciate any help anyone could give me. Thanks, Scott
Try an engine test. See troubleshooting section on home page for location. If you get a lined test print or in some cases a totally black page, then you have a bad formatter board. You could try sliding it out the back of the printer and reseating the memory and pushing down on the chips to make sure they are firmly seated. If that doesn't work, you'll need a new board.

I have already tried to do a engine test with the small button in the back that you can get to with a pen. Is there another test?

You have me confused. The button on the Laserwriter II is on the lower right side.

my apple laserwriter II is not pulling the paper into the cartridge. I've took out the front part that pulls the paper into the toner cartridge and the part jumps, jumps and jumps but will not pull paper. I cleaned all the parts in the machine and it still wont work. I tried different trays and even put the paper in the m'wave to get the moister out. Help Help Help
