Epson Epson LQ 850

Epson Stylus Colour 850

I have recently upgraded my computer to Windows XP and 2 weeks later I began to have printing problems. Everytime I print something from Windows, the Epson prints it in high resolution, even though the setting for high definition is not activated! Can anyone tell me what they think is the problem?
I have already triple checked the settings and there appears to be no strange settings.
Appreciate any help
Hi, i´m from Argentina. I have the same problem, every time i send to print the printer prints it in high resolution, even though the setting for high definition is not activated, but the color led is on.
I solve this problem changing the color cartridge for a new one and the printer run ok now.
Chek if the color led is on, try to take off and put it again, maybe is not detecting de cartridge.

I hope this is usefull for you.

Sorry for my english!!

Alisha: Thats normally a problem in your computer system and most likely in the software loaded on that system, rather than a problem in the actual printer itself. You might want to try loading new printer drivers from the epson.com web-site. You can delete your printer and its drivers and then download the latest available drivers from the Epson Home Page at http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/index.jsp . As drivers are FREE, I usually recommend trying those first if you have a possible communication problem. Bad or corrupted drivers can cause many problems. DEINSTALL [remove] your old printers first and then go to the epson.com web-site. Click-on your particular area, where you live [example: USA]. Then click-on DRIVERS AND SUPPORT and then click-on your particular type of Epson Printer [example: INKJET]. Look under the Ink Jet Printers for your "Epson Stylus Color 850" and click-on it. Once the DRIVERS & DOWNLOAD PAGE opens, read the INFORMATION to locate your particular SYSTEM [Win's 95,98,ME,2000.etc.] and then click-on it. Follow the directions and read all the available information concerning your systems driver downloads. Finally at the bottom of the page, click-on "Printer Software Installation for Windows ___ [Epson Printers]", or the "Download" option button. After the downloading utility opens, read the download information available, make your choices and complete the installation...I hope new drivers correct your problem. If not, then you may need to get help from a computer technician/person, rather than a printer technician, on this printer repair site. We work on the actual printer problems, but not usually on the computer system related problems....Good Luck! Denny Conway
