Epson Stylus Photo 810 Printer

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my printer?

I have an Epson Stylus Photo 810 and am having difficulties with the print quality. At first it printed with lines so I cleaned the heads and nozzles and did a test print.

I have now done about 20 test prints and it is failing to print the magenta square, but it does print the pink square. I presumed that the middle nozzle is blocked but when looking at the cartridge the seal has been broken and I can see ink there.

I am using Epson photo paper and Epson ink so didn't think this could be the problem and I am running out of ideas.

When I print photographs it prints all bobbly and the colours don't look right, but I'm obviously putting this down to the cartridge problem. I have had this problem before but I seemed to fix it with a few tests and it was fine. This time it doesn't seem to be getting any better and its consuming an awful lot of ink to juts print the test squares... can anybody shed some light on this for me.

Thanks in advance
It sounds like the print head is partially clogged. You can use warm distilled water and a syringe or the print head cleaning solution from here http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/kea0.html and flush the print heads.

The kit sold here is made for the Epson inks so it's the best thing to use on the print heads.

For info on how to use the kit or the distilled water you can view this link http://epsonhelp.freehttp.com/Printhead.html I don't recommend the use of Windex or Alcohol to be used on Epson print heads ever, also do not use regular tap water because of the mineral content it can worsen the print head clog which is what you want to avoid.

I hope this helps.
