upgrading a Laserjet IIP

I now have my Laserjet IIP back together and working. In searching the internet for information about the repair, I became aware that the IIP and the IIIP ave very similar. It made me wonder if simply changing one circuit board could add Resolution Enhansment to my IIP. Which parts of the IIIP are different from the IIP? This may be silly but I am the curious type.
Absolutely the only difference between the 2 printers is the formatter board (and the lettering on the cover). You also get an additional 512K of ram and a couple of built in scaleable fonts. I've got a few good used ones in the shop. If you want one, email me and I'll quote you a price.
