Help! My HP LaserJet 5si will not turn on

I plugged in my HP LaserJet 5si printer and connected it via parallel cabe to my computer. The printer will not power on, what am I missing?
Plug a lamp into the socket to make sure you have juice. Try the switch a couple of times on the lower left front to see if the dispaly flashes on and then off. If still no power, remove the formatter and the fuser assembly and try again. If y9u hear nothing when you press the switch, you either have a bad switch or power supply. Most likely it is the power supply. If the mtor turns or a fan comes on with the two items removed, replace the formatter and see if it still comes on. If not remove the formatter and replace the fuser and see if it comes on. If it comes on with one of the two items back in, the other item is the bad part. My gut feeling is no power coming in or a bad low voltage power supply.

I had a 5si with no power at a clients one time. I asked where the circuit breaker box was. Walked over and flipped the breaker on, handed them my bill and left. Had another client with a no power on a 4V. Pushed the power cord into the printer about 1/2 inch, handed them my bill and left. Never overlook the simple stuff.
