Epson Epson Stylus Color 660

Epson Stylus Color 660

I have cleaned my print head 10 times and I still have horz. Band and bad color. I ran the utitility for cleaning the nozzle and still. I still have ink left, is there a way to unclog or clean. How do you tell if your print head is bad?It is costly to replace ink if the problem might not be that it is old. Thanks for any answers. V.Coward

Vivian: Its possible that you might have a bad/empty ink cartridge, a failing Printhead Assembly, or possibly even clogged Printhead Nozzles, theres just no way to really know. You might want to try using the Epson Stylus Head Cleaning Solution, available through the home page on "fixyourownprinter.com", at http://fixyourownprinter.com/kea0.html , for around $10.00 plus shipping. It includes a syringe and some Epson Printhead Cleaning Solution, which is designed to dissolve most clogs, especially if you were using Epson inks. This is the same chemical used by Epson in their service department. You can try it if you want to and see if you can get the printhead nozzles to open up again...If you want to see what's involved in print head cleaning, Wes has supplied a link that might help: " http://www.epsonhelp.web1000.com/printhead.html "...Good Luck!
