Epson Epson Stylus Color 740

epson 740

I have an Epson Stylus 740 printer. Each time I print the result is the occasional faded ink of the letters and also ink lines accross the page in any given direction. I have put new black and new color in. THey are both of the Epson brand. I also used the thing where you clean your printer and so on several times (the one that is already installed on the computer). Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hillary: It's possble that you may even have an actual HARDWARE PROBLEM [parts problem], but normally that would indicate that your printhead assembly is probably clogged. You might want to try using the Printhead Cleaning Kit, available through the home page on "fixyourownprinter.com", for around $10.00 plus shipping. It includes a syringe and some Epson Printhead Cleaning Solution, which is designed to dissolve most clogs, especially if you were using Epson inks. You can try it if you want to and see if you can get the printhead nozzles to open up again...If you want to see what's involved in print head cleaning, Wes has supplied a link that might help: " http://www.epsonhelp.web1000.com/printhead.html "...Good Luck!
