Epson Epson Stylus Color 740

Take of the seal, before or after?

When replacing Epson Ink-cartridge. Should I remove the "pull tab seal" before I install it. Or should I first install the cartridge and then remove the seal?

As a final attempt, I'm going to buy cleaning cartridge for my Epson 740. And if that doesnt help, I will probably take apart the whole printer, and take the printhead and put it in distilled water for 1 week!. If that wont help I will throw it away.. :(
Anton: I feel its easier to remove the "pull tab seal" prior to placing the cartridge into the printer. In removing the tab prior to installation, I think there is less chance of damaging the small plastic stem that sticks up and puctures the seal on the bottom of the ink cartridge when it is installed and the cartridge cover is locked in place...Denny Conway
