Epson Epson Stylus Color 740

Epson 740 black streaks

Every time I print a page, black streaks are left on the page, like tractor marks.

Do I use an air canister to blast off the dried ink, or is there a safer solution?

Please help!!
If the streaks are from the feed rollers you can use a mild soap and warer mixture and a Q-tip and clean the rollers. If the streaks are from the face of the print head you can use a damp folded paper towel and place it near the rollers and glide the carriage over the paper towel to clean the face of the print head. It's best if you use distilled water to dampen the paper towel with.

And if you do not have a paper towel you can use a coffee filter inplace of the paper towel.

While you are at it you might as well clean and oil the carriage glide shaft. Use a lint free cloth and clean the carriage glide shaft then use a lite oil like 3 in One, Break Free, or Tri-Flow and apply a this bead then slide the carriage side to side a few times. If you want to see what the different oils look like use this link http://www.epsonhelp.web1000.com/oil.html

If you need the service manual for your printer try here http://www.epsonhelp.web1000.com/servicemanuals.html

I hope this helps.
