I cleaned the rubber rollers on my printer, afterwards i have balck lines across the print out, they are 1/4 inch apart and smudges the letters underneath. Help!!!
What rollers did you clean and what did you use to clean them?
I used a rubber cleaner called CaliKleen, all rollers and rubber parts illustrated in the printer manual were cleaned.
Never heard of the stuff till now. I suppose it could have softened the rubber enough so it is marking the page. Either that or you cleaned a roller you shouldn't have cleaned. First thing to do is determine which roller is causing it. The only way to do that is stop the page at different points by opening the door.
Thanks for the tip. The smear appears right after the toner. I removed the toner flip the toner cover open and found the roller inside to be coated with rows of black lines. Not sure how that happened from my cleaning the rubber rollers. I cleaned the baked on black lines off the entire roller, and no more black lines. Problem fixed. I used the printer the next morning and black lines reappear with a different spacing this. The roller in the toner cartridge shows a black line again. Switched to a new toner cartidge, so far so good. I will wait for tomorrow before I consider the problem fixed. Any idea what caused this?
The black lines just reapppeared on print pages using a new toner cartridge. Problem must be upstream from there. Any suggestion?
Please tell me you didn't clean the foam roller under the toner cartridge with that stuff.
