Hp HP Color Copier 120

HP LaserJet Series II-Can't Print legal size.

I too have a HP LaserJet Series II printer but no manual. If I can't get a manual I would appreciate if someone would tell me how to print on legal size paper, 8 1/2 x 14. I have tried everything that I can think of in setting it up, but it does not print any more lines than it prints on letter size and it gives me a paper jam every time. So I have to open it up & close it then it feeds the paper out. I even changed the form lines from 66 to 84, then 120 and still no luck. It's almost as if it doesn't have enough memory to take anything larger than letter size, is that possible?-guessing & grabbing straws.
Thanx for any help you can give me.
I may be wrong, but I seem to remember you can not print legal size unless you have a legal tray in the machine. The best bet is to look for one on ebay. They are fairly cheap. I think the II determines the page size by the tray itself and the setting in the menu have no effect.

Thanx loads for the answer.
It sounds like it may be the solution.
I will go to ebay and try to get a legal tray.
Thanx again.
